At Rush Lake Kennels we are wild bird hunters first and foremost. Dogs must possess outstanding noses, temperament, prey drive, natural retrieve, trainability, and bidability. Our dogs are hunted extensively on wild birds in conditions ranging from open plains to high desert and mountain country. They have to be tough enough to run through cattails, cactus, and sticker/thorn bushes in varied temperatures to both flush and retrieve game. Their health must be excellent including hips, elbows and eyes and their confirmation flawless.
